You may or may not have received our message regarding the annual TKAA Holiday party that is currently scheduled for next week. While the announcement has been made on our website, FB page, and an earlier email, it
seems that support is dramatically off for this event.

This event is FREE for paid TKAA members and guests are $15 each.

To date, only 12 people have signed up and that includes 5 guests!  Not sure why the lack of interest this year. We know that people have schedules, vacations etc., but this is a free event for our members.
If the members donít want it, so be it.  (and we are OK, but disappointed, with that)

So if we donít have the minimum of 50 attendees by Friday, we will be forced to cancel this event. (anyone who paid for guests will get a full refund)

If you are interested in signing up for this event, please do so no later than this coming Friday.

I just tried registering my wife (guest) and me on the site. It took my info but did not count my wife. You can count two more and I'll pay for my wife's meal when I arrive (unless you want to reset things on the website).

The lack of interest in holidays party is probably due to declining membership and longtime members losing interest in tkaa ( i.e. no longer contributing , etc).   I've been a member since early 2011 and did not renew this year after my 3 year membership expired.   Tkaa is not what it use to be since 2016 when decision to go all trophy format for annual tournament.    Since then, membership have decline, interest in tkaa is falling, and longtime members no longer contribute.   Just sharing my opinion since you asked about why no one is registering for the party.

Lowgy:

Yes, membership has been declining and the old members just aren't interested in participating with the club. People move on and other things become more important. It has been headed that way since I joined the club 5 years ago. The TKAA Tournament has not suffered one bit from changing over to a charity format. In fact the only events people participate in are the 2 tournaments we have done the last 3 years.

It comes down to no one needs club events to meet up and fish and post their pics on FB and Instagram anymore. The Board of directors will be discussing this and making decisions about where to take the club.

Dale,
Website appears to be fine. if we get enough sign ups, you can pay for her at the party.

I just registered for the TKAA Holiday Event.  Fyi, I wanted to add Brian Cochran (paid TKAA member) as a guest as he called me from out of town, said he couldn't get to the site and asked that I let TKAA know that he would attend.  Hope this helps numbers. Have a great weekend!

Keep castin!
