Slabs are here
« on: February 10, 2018, 02:09:57 PM »
Took advantage of the little warmer weather yesterday and went crappie hunting. A little slow during the day and then the bite exploded at dusk. Stopped counting at 15. Kept 5. Biggest three were just a hair over 14 inches and super fat. Pink and white grubs about halfway down the water column were the ticket.

Great looking Crappie!   My usual hole was full of Chain picks and the crappie didn't turn on at sunset like usual.   Looking forward to hitting Lake Smith soon for some crappie....

Nice Catch! Where did you catch them. I fished Chickahominy Lake yesterday near the dam and got completely skunked. >:(
The perch are really not in there yet and out of about 10 boats I only saw a handful of crappie caught.
I guess I should have fish somewhere else.
