Good news!

Looks like Norfolk is getting its act together. If any walleye have survived since the last stocking, I bet they are heeeyuuuge.

I wish I knew how to freshwater fish after looking through some of the recent fish reports.
Isn't there a closed launch just on the other side of the lake on the same road? Like a few hundred yards away. Is that in VB?
Norfolk also has another closed launch on Azalea Garden Road that is on the other side of Whitehurst that has been closed for years.

I wonder why they wouldn't just open the one that's there with a floating dock just sitting there

From what I have heard (take with grain of salt), there is a controversy over the property and the Airport.

I REALLY wanna fish Whitehurst for huge Flat Head Cats and Walleye.   "Charlie Taylor's fishing report" usually has some great Walleye reports from Whitehurst.    I e-mailed him a long time ago and asked "how do you get Whitehurst reports when it is closed to public?"  he responded that he gets reports from a property owner.

The plan sounds nice, I wonder how many years before we actually see this project come to fruition!

Keep castin!

Constructions started this winter.  I believe it maybe ready late spring or early summer.  I will try to swing by and assess the progress.

From Norfolk dot Gov...  Permits required for.....

"....Reservoir means any body of water owned by the city of Norfolk and used for drinking as listed: Lake
Wright, Lake Whitehurst (Little Creek Reservoir West), Little Creek Reservoir (Little Creek Reservoir East), Lake
Smith, Lake Lawson, Lake Taylor, Lake Prince, Lake Burnt Mills, and Western Branch Reservoir...."

Annual permits (good for all norfolk owned lakes) are $20 for Norfolk residents or $40 for non.  Daily permit is also available for $5 a day.

Permits can be purchase at OE2.

Fantastic news! Thanks for sharing. I've been half ass joking for a few years about buying property on the Lake just so I could fish it!
