Hrbt report
« on: February 05, 2019, 10:31:11 PM »
The current was really funny it was slack when it was supposed to be moving high tide was around 9:50 and we were two hours before but it was no movement we checked a majority of the pylons near the bridge with no luck. The highlight of the night is my buddy saw a freaking croaker Swimming by his kayak. I thought it was really strange a croaker in January something is really weird with the water

Croaker huh!!??

I was in Lynnhaven the past couple nights, taking advantage of the warm weather, and noticed some scum type of substance suspended a few inches on the top of the water column and then noticed there were tiny little jellyfish everywhere!

Jelly fish are in the bay year round.  That is not unusual around here.  We have dove under ice and seen them.

I have seen croaker caught in nets (a straggler here and there) in January and February.  While rare,it still happens more then people think.
