Lake Smith today
« on: June 03, 2019, 02:55:30 PM »
Lake Smith caught a couple of Shell Cracker and a few small bass. I started to go to Little Creek Reservoir across the street from lake Smith but there was a no trespassing no fishing sign posted can we not fish there anymore?

The signs are for "bank" fishing.  If memory serves, a guy drowned there a few years ago.

You can launch from the primitive ramp at Little Creek Reservoir adjacent to Hampton Blvd (Rt 13).   Launching and parking is perfectly legal.  Best part is, it doesn't close at sunset like Lake Smith ramp.

A couple years ago, the guy that closes up Lake Smith launch (parking area) told me that I could recover after dark (after closing) IF I park across the street (Rt 13) and haul my yak across the busy six lanes.    He said I could fish after dark (after closing), but I just couldn't be parked at the Lake Smith area.
