Australian kayaker run over by boat
« on: March 21, 2012, 10:26:15 PM »
Dont know if you guys have seen this article but I figured I would post it for those who haven't. Australian kayaker gets run over by a 114ft boat when the captain was not paying attention and had the boat on autopilot. You gotta assume powerboats do not see you even with your safety gear and keep a look out for them. Luckily this guy survived and was not even hurt but could have been a lot worse.

Man that's wild. Its hard to believe that power boats have the right away, and with them knowing that (or maybe not) they will sometimes get side tracked and forget they're not the only ones out there. Keep a good eye out for sure!

That goes to show you that even with all the safety/visibility gear in the world, you still have to watch out.  They were doing everything right, but s*** still happens.  He was one lucky person although the kayak didn't fare so well.
